Speaking about the Railway Industry Sector, but not the only one, where the environment is pervaded by high frequency currents, there is a need to use electrically insulated / hybrid bearings to prevent these currents from threatening the reliability of the machines and to control the electrical erosion in electric motors, traction in turbines or generators. An example of this coating is the ceramic coating which has the advantage of reaching resistance up to 1000V AC, to be under total control of the coating and to be low costs. Another type of coating is the ALUMINUM OXIDE one. The bearings treated with this procedure remain perfectly interchangeable with the original ones of the same size and type.
